Today I am presenting another written interview with Nasir Shakouri of Encore Cardservice, a payment processing company.
Check out the interview:
- Nasir Shakouri, what got you interested in starting a processing company?
I majored in finance and accounting in college and made the jump into this field when I graduated from college. Everyone needs a credit card processing company and with the growing ecommerce segment, it felt like a great space to grow in.
- How do you stand out from others in this same niche?
We try to provide top notch customer service to our customers. I know that everyone says this, but we really try to maintain a great relationship with our customers from the beginning and exceed expectations. The credit card processing world is very competitive and keeping customers for a long period of time requires us to be the best at what we do.
- What have you done to promote and advertise your service? What’s working for Nasir Shakouri and Co.?
We try to reach prospective customers through traditional methods like mailers, door hangers, newspaper ads, etc. and nontraditional methods like online advertising, ppc campaigns, email campaigns, and search engine optimization. The search engine optimization is a new technique and we have seen some positive growth in our reach.
- What are some things people should be aware of when picking a processing service?
Pricing is always something you need to consider when picking a processor, but it shouldn’t be the only thing. Paying a fraction of percentage more for better customer service and a company that cares about their customers is much better than just going to the cheapest processor.
- What does the future look like for Nasir Shakouri and Co.?
2015 looks like an interesting period in payment processing. With mobile processing and cryptocurrency making a splash in the news, there seems to be a great opportunity for growth in the payment processing world. I think mobile payments will grow exponentially and much faster than most people think. Personally, I hope to read more books this year and write in blog regularly. Thank you very much for allowing me to get my thoughts out there.
