Today I present another written interview with Chris & Nolan. They are currently working on a new crowdfunding platform called Headfunder. This platform will compete with platforms such as Kickstarter or Indiegogo.
Check out the interview:
1. What got you interested in starting your own crowd funding platform? Share your story.
The idea was sparked in the garage. We thought about all the other crowdfunding platforms and wanted to make something better. A lot of them lacked certain aspects. We asked ourselves, what did they do to get their idea to where it is today? Then it hit us. The answer was to take action. We stopped talking about it and just went for it! HeadFunder started in August 2013 and we have not looked back.
2. What do you feel will set you apart from popular platforms like Kickstarter and Indigogo?
Our social twist and innovative thinking will set us apart from Kickstarter and Indiegogo. Our low fees are also going to pose a big threat to some of these bigger platforms. We are also off to a great start on social media and getting more traction then most of these bigger platforms and we have not even launched yet. We have very big plans to say the least.
3. In terms of starting up this project, what are some of the biggest challenges you are facing currently?
Our main challenge right now is letting campaign creators be from different parts of the world. Currently only people with a US bank account are eligible to raise funds on our platform. Campaigns are allowed to accept international debit and credit cards though. It is a big priority for HeadFunder to become international as fast as possible.
4. How do you plan to market the platform? Are you going to be using a lot of paid advertising to create buzz around the launch?
We plan on marketing HeadFunder in many different ways. We are about to launch the VIP registration where users are going to be able to get their campaigns ready for launch. In the mean time we are going to be working on a massive thunderclap for the day we launch. The way we built the platform there should be a lot of social media sharing that will help us get noticed. Everybody on our team is an expert in social media and marketing. We are young and grew up in it. It is natural for all of us and this is a serious advantage we have.
5. What are your future plans for 2014 and beyond? When do you plan to launch your platform?
Our future plans are big and we have a lot of them. We are going to leave it at that. We plan on launching the VIP registration any day now. We are just making sure all the bugs are fixed and everything is ready to go. The public launch will be 20-35 days after the VIP launch.
