Interview with Laura Roeder of MeetEdgar.com – Ep. 76

Today I am presenting another podcast episode with Laura Roeder. Laura has been in the online marketing space for some time now, I actually originally heard about her through Derek Halpern of SocialTriggers.

In this episode we mostly discussed Laura’s new application Edgar. If you have used tools like Hootsuite before you will know that having something to help automate and schedule your social media content is important these days. Edgar actually stands out apart from most of the free solutions out there by categorizing and recycling old content. I like the idea behind Edgar because you can queue up old blog content from say a year ago and Edgar will share this content for you not once but potentially several times to reach a maximum audience.

It also helps determine when most engagement is happening so you can adjust accordingly to your posting schedule, all you are left to do is simply engage with your fans!

Check out Edgar here.

We also talked a bit about Laura’s experience with paying for high end coaching to get her to where she is today.

Laura also now runs the SaaS app Paperbell that helps coaches invoice their clients.

You can learn more about Laura on her site LKRSocialMedia.

Schedule Social Media Posts with Hootsuite

Schedule Social Media Posts with Hootsuite

Hootsuite has been out for some time now but for those of you who don’t know much about this application the basic idea is that you can schedule social media posts. I wanted to talk about how you can use this and share this with my readers.

I originally setup Hootsuite to connect with Facebook and easily post between a few groups I was in and schedule posts on Facebook throughout my week to keep my friends engaged with me and build discussion among the people that I know.

Let’s give an example of how Hootsuite can be used to Schedule Social Media Posts, let’s say I have a LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook account. I can link all of these accounts to Hootsuite, let’s say it’s 1pm as of the current day. I can schedule a post that says “Check out my Hootsuite overview here” with a link to this post and schedule this post to be submitted to all three of these social media accounts at 2pm. I could then setup various posts on specific days or times throughout the next week. This is an awesome way to keep your friends actively commenting and seeing what you decide to share while you are off doing other things during the day.

Schedule Social Media Posts & Finding Followers to Share content with on Hootsuite

I am currently growing both my Facebook and Twitter fan base. For Twitter followers I highly recommend checking out TweetAdder, you can read my Tweetadder review here. As you start building a followers and friends you will have more people to share your content with using Hootsuite.

Schedule Social Media Posts & The Hootsuite Pro Membership

Hootsuite is free for anyone but they also offer a Pro membership, I wanted to go over some of the advantages to this for power users.

  • Unlimited group posting (Free is limited to 5 Social Media Networks or Groups)

See all the details here.

A few other features available with Hootsuite are:
