If you tell someone they could earn a decent amount of money from a part-time hobby, they would say you were dreaming. In fact, many people are already doing this. It might seem like an impossible dream, but many people are able to make a decent amount of money by blogging, even without having a physical business to generate more income. While it may not be possible for you to quit your job and earn a living by blogging full time, you could easily supplement your income just by doing what you’ve always done. If you’re still not convinced, here are a few ways you could make money from blogging.

Selling ad space

Advertising is one of the easiest ways to start earning money from your blog, and there are several ways to go about this. The first is selling ad space directly to companies that are relevant to your content. Big companies are always looking to sponsor blogs because it’s another way of getting their product out to a wider audience. You get paid depending on how many visitors you get, so you stand to make a lot of money if your website is popular. On the other hand, if your site doesn’t get a lot of traffic, you can’t expect to earn as much either.

Companies like to receive visitors to their websites, so they pay good money for services such as Google AdWord or http://www.ppcpro.com.au/ to put them at the top of their search results whenever certain keywords are typed into their search engine. You can use a similar service to allow them to advertise directly into your website content. Google AdSense places relevant ads from these companies onto your website, and you can earn money each time someone clicks on the provided link.

Affiliate marketing

Unlike selling ad space, which require little involvement on your part, affiliate marketing involves you trying out sample products from different companies in addition to linking them back to your blog. You try out products that are relevant to your website, and if you like them you endorse the products to your subscribers. If your audience is interested in the product, they click on an affiliate link, and you get a split of the sale price if they purchase the product. Amazon Associates is a good option for this, as you’re more likely to get paid. Unlike other affiliate links, Amazon Associates pays you if they person you referred buys anything from them within 24 hours, not just the product you recommended to them. This option will work better if your website is successful within your target audience.

Creating your own product

If you’ve been comfortably blogging for a while now, you might want to get more involved in your industry by creating your own product .You stand more chance of making good money by publishing your own eBook and selling it directly from your website because there’s no one else taking a cut of the profits.
