Today I am presenting another written interview with Kim Rowley of WorkInMyPajamas.com
Check out the interview:
- How did WorkInMyPajamas.com get started? Share your story.
I have been sharing deals online since 1998. When I registered the domain name ShoppingBookmarks.com in the year 2000, I got a lot of press coverage via the local newspapers on how I helped people save money online. Then the Omaha World Herald put on the spin on their article reporting that my “hobby” paid for my (then) husband’s hobby of becoming a private pilot (Yes, we bought an airplane. I let him keep it in the divorce). After that article was published, I got daily phone calls and emails from people wanting to “do what I do”. Thus WorkInMyPajamas.com was born so I could send all the inquiries there.
- Tell us more about how you earn online with affiliate marketing? What’s working right now for you?
Back in 2000, my competition was minimal. Fast forward to today and the competition is fierce. I’ve had to expand my horizons. I still earn money via affiliate links on several of my websites, but I also have incorporated other revenue streams. My expertise in performance-based marketing has allowed me to also do consulting for merchants, businesses and publishers on affiliate management options.
- What do you usually tell people who ask questions like “How can I work from the comfort of my own home like you?”
I reiterate exactly what I said before. Affiliate marketing isn’t as easy to just jump into as it was 15 years ago. But if you really, really want to get involved, I’d suggest starting with a niche blog on a topic that you are passionate about. Once you get that started, visit WorkInMyPajamas.com to find ways to monetize it.
- Have any tips to share when it comes to using and finding coupons online for shopping?
This is a great opportunity for me to plug KimsCoupons.com that lists over 200K coupons for nearly online 3000 stores. When it comes to finding offline coupons and stores that I’m not associated with, Google is a girl’s best friend.
- What are your future plans for 2015 and beyond?
I accomplished several of my goals on my vision board in 2014 (I’m a huge believer in the Law of Attraction). So I plan to create a new board with new goals in 2015. And I will continue to be happy. As President Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, “Happiness is not in the mere possession of money; it lies in the joy of achievement, in the thrill of creative effort.”
