Meet John Delono, the head writer for Bitcoin Reviewer (http://bitcoinreviewer.com). As of October 2013, they have developed into the Internet’s most comprehensive source of information on cryptocurrency gambling.
When John started the site Bitcoin had just started getting attention from major news outlets like CNN, and Forbes. Many new users were starting to adopt the virtual currency, and there was little information available. Although digital gambling is usually considered a ‘shady’ industry, John felt that it was important for users to be able to find licensed casinos with responsible financial practices.

1. What got you interested in Bitcoin to begin with?
I first become interested in Bitcoin after I read about it online in 2010. I was very excited to learn that an peer-to-peer digital currency actually existed, as I am a fan of open-source technology. Coding has always been one of my interests, and I immediately started tinkering with the source. Since then, I have been quite active in the community.
2. Do you have any recommended sources people should visit to learn more about Bitcoin?
Well, other than Bitcoin Reviewer, I would say that the official wiki is a good starting point. There is a great newbie guide that will help you set up all of the software required. Another great resource is Bitcoin Talk, which is the largest forum for the cryptocurrency. The members there are always happy to answer any questions you have, and they are very friendly too.
3. Of all the resources available for Bitcoin, why create a review site that targets the gambling niche?
I chose to create a website in the gambling niche because there were no good sources of information at the time. Everyday, new users were starting to adopt the virtual currency, and they were vulnerable to scammers and fraudsters. Although digital gambling is usually considered a ‘shady’ industry, I felt that it was important for users to be able to find trustworthy casinos with responsible financial practices.
4. What have you done to promote your site in terms of traffic and visitors? Are you doing anything specific with Social Media, SEO etc?
A lot of our traffic comes from the official forum, where we maintain a large presence. We currently have a Google+ page and a Twitter profile where users can keep track of our latest reviews. https://twitter.com/bitcoinreviewer https://plus.google.com/+Bitcoinreviewer
5. What are your future plans for 2014 and beyond?
In 2014, I plan to continue developing the website to make it one of the largest Bitcoin resources. We are currently compiling a complete list of gambling sites, which will be distributed for free to all of our readers. It will include our ratings for them, as well as other statistics like when they were launched. Hopefully, we will be able to stop players from getting ripped off by dishonest casinos.
