Doing a Google search for ‘earn money from home’ brings up all kinds of questionable results. Once you’ve sifted through all of the scams, you’ll probably stumble upon kind of ridiculous survey work or earning through an app, doing jobs that you’ll be lucky to earn ten dollars a month with. But don’t despair, there are ways you CAN earn proper money from home and in some cases even turn it into a full-time job. Unlike the spam ads you see online, I can’t promise you will make thousands of dollars a week. Like anything, it does take a lot of hard work (and patience) to build it up. But you can definitely make a very respectable income with these methods.
Freelance
Freelance work is fantastic, it allows you to utilize your skills, and you can control your own work flow. While each project you take on will have a deadline, you can decide how many pieces you want to undertake. If you’re very busy with other commitments, you can do less, and if you don’t have much on you can do more. It’s ideal for working around family or another job, or if you try one of the methods below you could work it around that too. Have a look online for freelance sites, sign up and work out which you like best.
Blog
Blogging has taken over the internet in the last few years. People used to set up sites to talk about the things they loved and share with others, not realizing what great things it could lead to. These days blogging is a fantastic, legitimate way to earn money and can be very lucrative if you go about it the right way. You do need to have a love and passion for writing and the topic you’re talking about, as it’s likely to be slow to start. But keep putting out good content and in time sponsors and advertisers will be in touch. Many will request sponsored posts, where you’re paid to put a client’s link into a blog post. Some will ask you to publish pre-written posts with the link already included, and some might be looking for a banner ad. As a bonus, bloggers tend to be sent a ton of great things to review. If you find you’re getting a lot of mail, setting up an internet PO box could make like easier. That way everything is delivered to you in bulk.
Start a Business
The accessibility of the internet has allowed so many people to take the leap from ‘employee’ to ‘boss.’ Setting up even a small online business from home can earn you a significant amount of money. If you don’t have a lot of cash to get started to create a website and promote it, sell through an online marketplace. Amazon, Etsy, and eBay are all good, you have your own little store, and you’re likely to be seen by a larger number of customers. In time once you’re turning more of a profit you could go it alone. Work out where your passion lies and set up a business, you’ll earn money without it feeling like a job!
